Observe the hiddenness and littleness of Jesus in the grotto. Look to the simplicity of the Nativity Scene, and know that goodness, even when hidden and invisible, grows in silence, multiplies in unexpected ways, and spreads the fragrance of joy.

We entrust the new year to the #MotherOfGod. May we consecrate our lives to her. In her tenderness, she knows how to reveal its fullness, because she will lead us to Jesus, the fullness of time, of all ages. May this year be filled with the Lord's consolation.

The world needs to look to mothers and women to find peace, to break free from violence and hatred. Every society needs to respect, protect, and value every woman, aware that whoever harms a single woman profanes God, who was born of a woman.
